An American federal judge has found a “likely reason” to keep the Trump government in contempt from the court for the violation of his earlier order to stop deportations of Venezuelan migrants.
Judge James Boasberg of the American district said that the government has demonstrated “deliberate contempt” for his order of 15 March that the government kept to deport the alleged gang members of Venezola to El Salvador.
The finding can lead to civil servants being confronted with criminal prosecution because they do not comply with the earlier order of Judge Boasberg.
The Trump government maintained that it had the right to carry out the deportations under the Alien Enemies Act.
When Judge Boasberg gave the order, two aircraft of Venezuelans were already en route from the United States to El Salvador.
The planes were not turned to the United States.

On Wednesday, Judge Boasberg said that there was a likely reason to find officials in criminal contempt in the administration.
“The court does not come to such a conclusion,” he wrote in his ruling.
“Indeed, it has given the defendants sufficient opportunity to put or explain their actions.
“None of their answers has been satisfactory.”
Judge Boasberg said that the administration would first have the opportunity to “purify” her contempt before he regards potential criminal prosecution.
“The Constitution does not tolerate intentional disobedience of judicial orders – mainly by civil servants of a coordinate branch that has sworn an oath to maintain it,” wrote Boagberg.
The Trump administration did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
The El Salvador Deportation flights are subject to an increasing recoil about reports of innocent people have accidentally imprisoned in a notorious Salvadoran Mega prison.
The administration has refused to free a man, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was wrongly deported.
Judge Paula Xinis ordered the US government last week to arrange his return, and noted that Mr Garcia was a husband and father and had no ties with criminal gangs.
The same judge said this week that the American government did “nothing” to facilitate his return.
During an Oval Office appearance earlier this week, both Donald Trump and El Salvador President Nayib Bukele both stood that there was no way to bring Mr Garcia home.
Mr. Trump also said he was open to the prison of American citizens in prisons in El Salvador if they had committed crimes, which led alarm.
