Carolina, Puerto Rico – In a gym full of new faces it was a first -year student who stood out.

It was not one of Indiana’s incoming transfers, but it was Trent Sisley who wore the freight in the 98-47 exhibition victory against Universidad de BayamĂłn on Wednesday evening.

Sisley led all Indiana scorers with 21 points in his first unofficial collegial competition.

“What you saw today is a product of all the work he put this summer.” Indiana coach Darian Devries said Postgame. “His adjustment to College Basketball has been really good.”

Sisley went into the game halfway through the first quarter and had trouble scoring. But things changed soon after he was converted to a layout early in the second stanza. On the subsequent property, the Santa Claus, Indiana has a right -wing three birth, confidence in the young shooter.

Although the five -point eruption was his only output of half, it was the start of what a clinic became.

Sisley was automatically in the second half. The Top-100 prospect added 16 second half points and ended 21 points with the team-high.

The first-year student finished 9-out-12, including a perfect 3-out-3 from Beyond the Boog. In addition to his scoring output, Sisley had two assists and three rebounds.

“As soon as the first enters, you must of course continue to photograph,” Sisley said. “I got an open appearance, so that was good.”

Sisley not only filled the Statsheet, but he was only on both ends on the floor.

In addition to his team -high points, Sisley played Wednesday 23:19, most of Elke Hoosier. His fourth quarter Run with the second team showed his versatility. It doesn’t matter who he was on the ground, Sisley led the leadership.

The open training last week in Cook Hall proved that Sisley’s belonged as a first -year student on the field against his teammates. The same presence on the field was clear in his first game, which reflected his comfort level against a new opponent.

“I think you are always a young player and you can be successful early, it’s always good for your self -confidence,” said Devries. ‘To know:’ Hey, I did some things in practice. I worked hard. ‘And then to be rewarded in the game.

The pure athletics that was shown on Wednesday evening showed that Sisley can play anywhere on the floor. Whether it is about pushing the ball after a miss or rises for a putback dunk, the first -year students constantly attracted attention.

Despite the crooked score in the fourth, the intensity of Sisley remained constant as if it were a game with one possession. The effort on the floor wore to the starters on the couch.

During a defensive possession in the fourth quarter, the five starters started a ‘defense’ singing by Sisley’s ruthless pressure – a real will about how the first -year students are viewed by his teammates.

Devries hesitates to comment on the role of players in the rotation for the season. However, he is convinced that summer exercises and games will help the first -year student in a role.

The competitive nature of Wednesday evening match was the same as an exhibition against a Naia opponent, in which all 11 dressed Hoosiers scored. However, it offered the opportunity for newcomers such as Sisley to shine.

The second half explosion against an insufficient opponent in August could cause unnecessary expectations for mid -November. Yet it can very well be the creation of a great career in the cream and crifier red.

“Now you have set the bar quite high,” Devries joked. “Every time you are a young player and you can have success early, it is good for your self -confidence.”

Sisley will continue his growth in Indiana’s Saturday evening match with the Serbian Professional Team Mega Super -Bet.
