The Coca-Cola Co. has just announced his latest limited-time soft drink, and it is a combination of Sprite and tea that was initially driven by a team of interns six years ago.
Sprite + Tea simply beat the US and Canada earlier and is expected to stay on the market until October. The soft drink is available in both regular and zero sugar varieties, and according to a press release it combines “the crispy, lemon-lime refreshment from Sprite with the classically refreshing taste of tea.” The new product arrives only a month after Coca-Cola announced Better than mitigating first quarter of 2025 financial resultsLogging in a turnover decrease of 2% on an annual basis, but keeping his growth reasons for 2025, In contrast to rival Pepsico.
For years, Coca-Cola has been experimenting with new, unexpected flavor combinations that are designed to attract younger consumers, ranging from seasoned cola to the Sprite-Kilte last summer and the ever-popular seasonal Sprite Winter seasoned cranberry. The company recently introduced Orange Cream Coke, with reference to “growing demand between millennials and gene Z-ers for pleasure, unexpected flavors and sensory experiences” as the inspiration behind the nostalgic taste.

Unlike this other taste play of the company, Sprite + Tea is perhaps already known to many fans. That’s because before it became an official product, the soft drink started when an idea drove through Coca-Cola trainees who later became a viral DIY Tiktok trend.
Tiktok saw it first
In An interview with advertisement -ageCoca-Cola Co. Senior Creative Director AP Chaney explained that Sprite + Tea landed for the first time on radars from managers in 2019, when a group of trainees threw a combination of the two drinks.
“It was an R&D project and trainees were asked to come up with different innovations and marketing ideas for different brands, and Sprite + Tea was an idea of that,” Shaney told Ad Age.
From there the idea seems to have been on the rear burner until the summer of 2023, when a DIY -itself -sprite -tea started to pop up on Tiktok. In The first tap The Malaysian chef Hisham Raus shows Raus in a normal bottle of Sprite and enjoy the brew with a piece of lemon. The video, which has since collected 19.8 million views and 1.3 million likes, has produced dozens of copycat videos on various platforms such as YouTube -Shorts and Instagram -reels.
Food influencer @shophocho7798 Created the concept again in a YouTube video with 3.7 million viewsThe result “literally mention a carbonated Arnold Palmer.” In another YouTube Short with 8.3 million views, Maker Jordan Howlett stated the hack “delicious” And encouraged his 4.4 million subscribers to give it a try.
“When [the trend] Bloated on Tiktok with millions of views, it was a bowel control that we were on the right track, “said Chaney in the company’s press release.
Although it is unlikely that Coca-Cola uses the tea bags hack to produce Sprite + Tea mass production, the release notes that the North American R&D team of Coca-Cola “completed different rounds of consumer tests to refine the formula for the Ambergezende Sprankente drinks.”
For Coca-Cola, Sprite seems to be a reliable basis for taste brake mixes: in 2024 the limited-time Sprite Chill Chill became the best-selling drink innovation of the company, and Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry has returned several times since 2013 as a holiday fan favorite since 2013. Meanwhile, it was not in the past spiced COCOKESXPERIVIENT.
Tiktok is already flooded with videos from fans who try Sprite + tea, with a few reviews that recommend the drink ”Strong tea taste“While others Recommend that viewers stick to the DIY version.
