Tottenham ready to beat Liverpool and Man Utd to sign Semenyo

Tottenham Hotspur are ‘prepared’ to beat Manchester United and Liverpool in the race to sign AFC Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo. TEAMtalk.

The 25-year-old has made a great start to this season, scoring six goals and registering three assists in his first seven Premier League appearances. However, he failed to contribute any goals in the last seven league matches.

Remember new hair

Yet the Ghanaian’s potential candidates are not deterred by his meager spot TEAMtalk claim Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester City and Man Utd are all keen to secure his services in the upcoming winter transfer window.

The Citizens are currently the frontrunners in this race after reaching advanced talks on this deal. Pep Guardiola has been impressed by Semenyo’s recent standout performances and reaching personal terms with the player will not be a problem for Man City.

Semenyo has a £65 million buyout clause in his current contract, which runs until 2030, and the clause is only valid in January. That figure will drop at the end of the season. Guardiola’s side are even ready to trigger his release clause to lure him to the Etihad Stadium next month.

However, Liverpool are undeterred by the Citizens and are ready to make every move to complete the deal as Arne Slot sees the forward as the perfect long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.

While Semenyo may prefer a move to Anfield, he wouldn’t turn down the chance to join Manchester City and play under Guardiola.

Conflict

The report further states that Man Utd are also interested in the Ghanaian, but Tottenham are ‘willing’ to break their wage structure to convince the forward to join and beat other clubs.

Spurs owners are ready to back Thomas Frank to help him compete with the big six teams, having recently injected £100m of equity into ENIC.

The Lilywhites and Man Utd are said to have been keen to sign Semenyo last summer before signing any other targets. However, it seems like they haven’t given up hope on a deal just yet.

Semenyo has been one of the most in-form players in the Premier League this season and would be a huge achievement if Man Utd, Liverpool or Tottenham ultimately manage to secure his service in January.
