Tottenham Hotspur are considering a deal for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones

Tottenham Hotspur loaned Joao Palhinha from Bayern Munich last summer and followed the purchase of Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid in the current transfer window, although further strengthening the midfield remains their priority.

Daily Mail reported this that Tottenham are considering a transfer for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones in the summer. According to the source, the Lilywhites have admired him for a number of years and believe 2026 would be the ideal opportunity to lure him away.

Remember new hair

Jones will enter the final year of his contract at Anfield once the 2025/26 season comes to an end. Spurs believe they can not only sign the 24-year-old for a bargain but also offer him a regular place in the starting XI.

Liverpool may want to extend Jones

Curtis Jones is a homegrown player for Liverpool who has come out of the youth academy, and while his sale would be an absolute gain in their books, they have no real need to raise money and therefore he can remain part of their plans.

That being said, the Englishman has not played as fewer minutes this season as it may seem. Granted, he wasn’t a key part of Arne Slot’s plans in the opening weeks of the campaign, but he has averaged 60 minutes in 28 league appearances.

Meanwhile, if Tottenham Hotspur want to sign the 2024/25 Premier League winner, they will likely have to pay a significant sum of money given Jones’ age and Liverpool’s potential desire to extend him. The player is valued at Ā£35 million on Transfermarkt.

It will be interesting to see whether the Liverpool academy graduate prefers to stay at Anfield, where the competition will be fierce for minutes, or whether he prefers to spend some of the most important years of his career playing regularly for Tottenham from next season.
