Tottenham have turned to the Manchester City star after Semenyo’s criticism

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to make a move for Manchester City striker Omar Marmoush.

The north London side had expressed an interest in signing Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth in the January transfer window, with an offer submitted to the players’ camp.

However, it appears Semenyo will choose Manchester City as his preferred destination, with several clubs willing to activate his £65 million release clause.

Spurs are ready to take advantage of that move with a move for Marmoush. The Egypt international has only started twice in the Premier League this season and the potential addition of Semenyo will further increase the competition for places.

Marmoush signed for City from Eintracht Frankfurt last January for a fee of €70 million and scored seven times in 14 league starts in 2024/25. However, the summer signing of Rayan Cherki has seen his minutes reduced.

According to TEAMtalkSpurs are ready to test City’s resolve with a bid. However, any deal will have to wait until the conclusion of the Africa Cup of Nations, where the 26-year-old currently represents Egypt. He scored in The Pharaohs’ opening win against Zimbabwe this week. The final of the tournament is scheduled for January 18, 2026.

Spurs also maintain interest in City team-mate Savinho following talks in the summer, although that pursuit has cooled after the Brazilian signed a new contract at the Etihad in October.
