Savinho has struggled to find fame this season, making just four starts in the Premier League. Players like Jeremy Doku, Phil Foden, Rayan Cherki and Bernardo Silva are preferred by Pep Guardiola and therefore there are chances for him to leave mid-season.
Insider believes Man City could sell Savinho to Tottenham
According to Football insiderMick Brown has given Tottenham hope that a deal can be done for Savinho when the transfer window opens.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if Savinho leaves City in January. He has been relegated to more of a back-up role because Cherki has come in and hit his stride, and Doku and Foden have both gone a step further.”
“Savinho is a top player, but at the moment he is not improving or becoming a regular there. Guardiola does not see him as a starter for the other players I have mentioned, so there is a good chance that if they get an offer they can let him go.”
“We know City like to have that depth in their squad, but if someone comes in with a huge offer for him I think they would let him go. Tottenham were clearly interested in the summer and nothing came of it, but that interest will still be there, from them and from other clubs too.”
Should Savinho join Tottenham in January?
It is clear that Savinho is not being counted on too much at Man City. The second half of this season is crucial for him as he needs to play to give himself a good chance of being in Brazil’s squad for the 2026 World Cup. A move to Tottenham would certainly give him more playing time.
