Tottenham are eyeing a January deal for Antoine Semenyo

According to Air sportsTottenham Hotspur is molooking at Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo’s situation ahead of the January transfer window.

The North London giants became interested in signing the Ghana international last summer, but ultimately recruited Mohamed Kudus to strengthen the wide attacking department.

This hasn’t necessarily put an end to their interest and Air sports claim Thomas Frank’s side are closely monitoring the 25-year-old’s situation ahead of the winter transfer window.

Spurs want to sign another striker in January, especially someone who can play from the left.

Proven winger

Spurs have focused on adding proven attacking talent to their ranks. They signed Kudus from West Ham United last summer and were keen to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace before Arsenal hijacked the deal.

The club compensated for the setback by signing Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig. The Dutchman had a slow start to his career, but has started to find his feet in the Premier League in recent games and should only get better.

Semenyo would be another top signing for the Europa League champions. The Ghanaian has been exceptional for the Cherries in the league this season, scoring six goals and providing three assists in 11 appearances.

He can play comfortably on either wing, but he is most comfortable on the left flank. Kudus has made an immediate impact on the right wing with several assists, and his compatriot Semenyo would be a perfect addition to Spurs at the other end.

Semenyo has many other qualities in addition to his goal contributions. He won on average 6.5 duels per match this season while recovering 5.3 times. He has completed almost 2 dribbles per outing.

The 25-year-old, described as ‘world class‘ by Bournemouth star Justin Kluivert would fit in seamlessly at Spurs, unlike a new signing from abroad who may need a number of months to adapt to the higher intensity.

The Cherries reportedly value their prized asset at around €300 £70 million. Spurs could be willing to pay the fee as early as January to boost their prospects in European football and potentially secure silverware.
