ABC has announced new and classic comedies that will be available this year.

Audiences can revisit beloved classics like Kath & Kim and Young Sheldon, while also discovering new scripted and entertainment series including Bad Company, Ground Up and Urzila. Family-friendly laughs are also on the way with Caper Crew and Do Not Watch This Show season 2, all later in 2026.

To keep the laughs going we have Australian premieres of New Zealand Spy, Can You Keep A Secret?, Small Town Scandal, Twenty Twenty Six and ABC premieres of Top End Bub and Koala Man.

Whether you’re in the mood for nostalgia, sharp new satire or family-friendly fun, there’s something to keep everyone laughing on ABC TV and ABC iview.

Highlights of the program include:

Kat & Kim
It’s Australian nostalgia at its best, now that the saying ‘look at moi’ is part of the vernacular. Enjoy a trip down memory lane now on ABC iview and Saturdays from February 7 at 6pm on ABC TV.

Koala man
This adult animated comedy from Michael Cusack (Ciggy Butt Brain) follows Kevin Williams, an unassuming middle-aged family man who takes it upon himself to dispense justice in the town of Dapto as the spectacularly average superhero Koala Man. Armed with no superpowers and little more than a basic costume, Kevin takes on a colorful cast of would-be villains determined to wreak havoc in his hometown. Featuring the voices of Sarah Snook, Hugh Jackman and Jermaine Clement, Koala Man premieres on ABC iview on Sunday, March 1.

Top end Bub
When a privileged lawyer from the Eastern Suburbs is sent to Darwin to handle a case involving a young Indigenous woman, her carefully ordered life unravels where the hit film Top End Wedding left off. Top End Bub, starring Miranda Tapsell, premieres Saturday, March 7 at 8:30 PM on ABC TV and ABC iview.

Can you keep a secret?
When a doctor wrongly declares her husband dead, she seizes the opportunity to keep the insurance payout and convinces him to remain hidden. As family members draw closer, including a police officer’s daughter-in-law, the lie escalates into a farce about love, loyalty and moral compromise. Starring Dawn French, Can You Keep a Secret? premieres Sunday, March 15 at 8:25 p.m. on ABC TV and ABC iview.

Young Sheldon
Follows the trials and tribulations of The Big Bang Theory genius Sheldon Cooper as he skips elementary school classrooms to attend middle school as a nine-year-old. Starring Iain Armitage, Young Sheldon premieres Friday, March 27 on ABC iview and Monday to Thursday at 8pm on ABC Family.

Scandal in the small town
After his millionaire uncle is mysteriously murdered by an automatic lawn mower, failed journalist Toby Buchanan sees a chance for redemption. When the police rule it a heart attack, a suspicious voicemail forces Toby to launch a true-crime podcast, revealing secrets in a rural New Zealand town that doesn’t want the truth to come out. Small Town Scandal, starring creator Tom Sainsbury, Rose Matafeo, Morganna O’Reilly and Alexander England, will premiere on ABC TV and ABC iview later in 2026.

Twenty twenty-six
Hugh Bonneville returns as Ian Fletcher (W1A, streaming on ABC iview from Wednesday 1 April, and Twenty Twelve, from Monday 1 June on ABC iview), now tasked with organizing the world’s biggest ever football tournament across three host countries. As logistics, politics and egos collide, Fletcher’s trademark optimism is pushed to the limit in this sharp, timely comedy from John Morton. Produced by Expectation, Twenty Twenty Six will premiere on ABC TV and ABC iview later in 2026.

New Zealand spy
New Zealand’s intelligence service is on the hunt for new recruits. When the agency places an ad in the newspaper, only three decidedly unlikely candidates respond. The mismatched trio is thrown headfirst into the dark world of espionage and navigates their way through betrayal, romance and escalating absurdity. New Zealand Spy, starring Bret McKenzie, Andy Lee and Paul Williams and produced by Kevin & Co, will premiere on ABC TV and ABC iview later in 2026.
