The former Love Island star has exchanged verbal Jibes with the YouTuber boxer over the years before they finally established their rivalry in 2023
Tommy Fury has admitted that he did not know who Jake Paul was after being called by the ‘problem child’ almost four years ago.
The couple has driven online hooks in recent years before they finally ended their rivalry two years ago. At a certain point the fight seemed to never take place. The competition would initially take place in December 2021, but with a little less than a week until the first bell, the Brit withdrew due to an injury and a medical problem.
Almost a year later the dust was turned. Only a few weeks to go until the competition, however, Fury withdrew again – this time, visa issues that prevented him from entering the United States. The collision was booked for the third time in 2023 and they finally combine leather. Although he was taken down in the final round, Fury would score a victory over points.
Despite their iconic rivalry, Fury surprisingly admitted that he did not know who Paul was in the beginning – despite the American’s big supporters on social media. Talk about The good, the bad and the beast Podcast organized by Eddie Hall, when he was asked how Paul-Fight came about, Fury replied again: “Tyson (Fury) again. Funnily enough. “Then I jumped on the internet and went:” I don’t need anyone to call you, I’m here and I’m going to fight you … no problem! ” And then it just escalated in a social media war.
Since their first meeting, the duo has often exchanged Jibes online in an attempt to set up a rematch. So far, however, no rematch has been confirmed. Paul triumphed about Mike Tyson in his most recent fight in November and will be against Julio Cesar Chavez JR this weekend. A victory against the Mexican would undoubtedly feed speculation of a second fight with the former Love Island star.
