UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall has taken another fiery attack on Ciryl Gane. Aspinall and Gane were featured at UFC 321, and the Brit was poked in the eye by ‘Bon Gamin’ in round 1 of the heavyweight bout.
Aspinall was unable to continue due to impaired vision, and so too the fight was declared a no-contest due to an accidental error.
Since then, Aspinall has been on the sidelines. He had surgery on one eye and the next operation will take place in mid-January 2026. The Brit recently appeared in an interview with One on One MMA. During the sit-down, he said that when he returns, he plans to “take Ciryl Gane out of existence.”
“Obviously the plan is to go back and get Ciryl Gane out, but right now the short-term plan is to get back to where I should be, get back in the gym.”

Tom Aspinall says people turned to him after the UFC 321 eyepoke situation
Tom Aspinall was previously dissatisfied with UFC CEO Dana White for his comments about Aspinall during the UFC 321 post-fight presser. The MMA community had mixed reactions to Aspinall’s eye injury. While some sympathized with his situation, others criticized him for openly discussing the injury and felt he went too far by subtly taking a dig at Ciryl Gane about the eye poke.
In the same interview mentioned above, Aspinall discussed the situation and added that some people had turned against him after the eye poke incident.
“People turn on you very quickly… Even if they are your friend. Maybe the fact is that they are not your friend. They will come out and say certain things if you are in a relationship with them.”
