Four men sat down to play, they played all night until the break of the day,

They played for gold and not for fun, with individual scores for everyone,

When the time came to square accounts, they each made quite fair amounts

So answer me this paradox, how every man won nobody then lost?

How to play

Wordel is a daily word puzzle game where your goal is to guess a hidden five -letter word in six attempts or less. After each gamble, the game gives feedback to help you get closer to the answer:

  • Vegetable: The letter is in the word and in the right place.
  • Yellow: The letter is in the word, but in the wrong place.
  • Gray: The letter is not in the word at all.

Use these instructions to limit your guesses. Every day brings a new word and everyone around the world tries to solve the same puzzle. Some Wordlers also play a competitive wordel against friends, family, the wormle bone or even against me, your modest narrator. See rules for competitive Wordel by the end of this message.

Stale was a bad opener today. Very bad luck. Only one yellow ‘e’ and 329 remaining solutions. Mound was not a very good follow-up, so I had no less than 51. Fortunately, the grief has cut it to just two: fiery and kefir. I felt that Fiery had already been a wordel (although I am not sure if this is true), so I went with Kefir. Fortunately for me, that was the Wordel!

The Wordel -Etymology of today

The word kefir Comes from Russian кефир (Kefir), borrowed from Turkish bastardwhich probably comes from the North Caucasian (possibly Osseetian) word cook What does “foam” or “bubbles” mean, referring to the bubbling of the drink. It came in English in the late 19th century through Russian descriptions of the fermented milk drink.
