‘Today I am happy’ – Vorror Pereira reflects on Newcastle 1 Wolves 0

Vitor Pereira watched while his Wolves team lost 1-0 to Newcastle United.

The Wolvenbaas explains after the last whistle; “Today I am happy.”

Vitor Pereira happy with the way his team played, despite the fact that these are now four defeats in a row in the Premier League, pointless at the bottom of the table.

The visitors threatened twice in the opening package, but only had another effort to focus the rest of the game, indeed, they had almost zero threat the entire second half.

Newcastle should have been two or three during the break, but Nick Woltemade’s quality debut head was enough to win. The second half United saw the victory comfortably, making it three clean sheets in their opening of four PL competitions.

VEBOR PEREIRA reflective On Newcastle 1 Wolves 0:

“I am very happy with my team, proud of my players, the way we got away in Newcastle, full stadium, but I saw my team playing with courage, tactical organization, creating problems, strategic problems and we created two chance to score for them.

“This is the time to be together, not to complain, because I am very proud.

“I believe we can increase the level of the team if we have time to work with the team, if we had time to work on the field, we can increase the level.

“The first week we have time to be together and work together on the field, it will be for the first time in this season the next week.

“What I saw this game was tactical, mentally, a team with energy, with spirit, with faith in itself, and this is the way for me to increase our level and get points.

“Last season we had defeats in four games in a row, but we never lost our focus. We have never lost our way to improve. This is the way to improve, mentally and tactically speaking. We know what we should do with the team, and the team knows what we can do to improve, and this is time to be patient and support the team.

“I just want to make a game that is proud of my players, proud of my team, and today I am proud of my team.

“Today I am happy.

“Of course, worried because we have not received points, but this is the way, I want to see my team competing like that.”
