During the opening weekend in Timonium, trainer Anthony Farrior was zoomed to the top of the rankings, while the racing side is the racing side on the jockey side.
Timonium’s fast, seven -day stand ends this weekend. The Maryland State Fair Track racet on Friday through Labor Day Monday and then disappears another year.
Farrior, last year’s leading trainer, went 5-out-10 to establish an early lead. Jose Corrales (3-out-12) is his nearest pursuer. Farrior has entered 24 horses in the last four days of the meeting, while Corrales has 18, so there is a good chance that they will end a two in the rankings.

Other trainers with several victories during the opening weekend were Jamie Ness and Troy Singh, both 2-out-5, and Hugh McMahon (2-out-4). Nineteen trainers won at least one race.
Farrioror has won 2.04 more races than his chances had predicted, the highest total of extra victories. Of those trainers with four or more starts, McMahon is second (0.84), followed by Singh (0.79), Corrales (0.65) and Rudy Sanchez-Salomon (0.23).
Carlos Lopez (4-out-17) and Yedsit Hazlewood (4-out-10) lead the jockey classification in victories, but there is a crowd behind them. Marshall Mendez and Tais Lyapustina have three victories each, while Jorge Hernandez, Andres Chavez and Arnaldo Bocachica have two. Fourteen riders have at least one victory.
