The Minnesota Timberwolves have kept two open grid spots for most of the low season. However, they recently signed 6-foot-7 guard Johnny Juzang. This contract is just a training camp deal. The wolves will have to fill at least one of their two open grid spots. Juzang has shown flashes as a high quality quality and therefore has a strong chance of making the schedule.
The Wolves signed Johnny Juzang for a training camp deal, says Source.
Minnesota will have to fill in a schedule place before the start of the season, and Juzang will compete for that place in the training camp.

After this step, the Wolves can sign several players to train camp deals to compete for a schedule. Given the high payroll of the wolves, it is possible that they keep one grid open open for increased flexibility.
The wolves already have a rotation of 10 men, so they are probably looking for more depths. Adding a player such as Malcolm Brogdon, who could recommend big minutes, is not ideal considering how this would influence young players such as Rob Dillingham. For the wolves it is logical to get a player who will serve as a depth piece only for minutes. Because this is only a training camp deal, there is no risk.
The wolves probably have several players who compete for a schedule in training camp
Signing Juzang reflects a clear strategy; It is unlikely that the wolves sign a large free agent such as Brogdon. Instead, they will probably sign more players (presumably younger players) to train camp deals to compete for the open schedules. As mentioned earlier, this road with the charged rotation of the wolves is very logical.
It is not uncommon for teams to sign several players for training camp -deals, but having two open schedules is quite unusual, making this open competition path intriguing.
The wolves also signed Enrique Freeman for a two -way contract shortly after signing Juzang. Although this has no influence on the main roster, it shows that the wolves are aimed at young talent. Another advantage is that the wolves can see how each player fits the team in training camp before they make a final selection decisions.
This ensures that the wolves sign the best player (s) for their team and needs. Juzang is not guaranteed a schedule. Nevertheless, his skills make him a clear candidate to earn one with the wolves.
Juzang fits perfectly with the wolves
Juzang has been productive during his three-year-old NBA career. In the past year, Juzang appeared with the Utah Jazz in 64 games (18 starts), on average 8.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists with 42.9/37.6/84.9 shooting splits. Juzang has already fooled six occasions. The UCLA product is a gifted shot -maker, who can help the wolves to fulfill an important need to make perimeter recording.
Assuming Juzang makes the schedule, he will probably not be part of the rotation. However, if injuries arise or one of the young boys of the wolves is struggling, Juzang can certainly get a chance. At the age of 24 it is also possible that Juzang is developing into a legitimate rotation player. In general, Juzang’s mix of perimeter scoring and size makes him an ideal piece for the wolf bench.
