Australia has dominated the largely unknown Batting-Line-up of South Africa to achieve an unlikely victory in the first match of a three-game twenty20 series in Darwin.

South Africa lost on Sunday with 17 points in Marrara Oval, Bowlode for 161 after Australia was fired for a disappointing 178 from the last ball of an innings saved by Tim David’s 83.

The innings of South Africa was built around 71 in 55 balls from the Wicketkeeper and the Opening of Slagman Ryan Rickelton.

Josh Hazlewood was the hero for Australia and claimed three to 27, while the veteran Legspinner Adam Zampa finished with two to 33 of his four overs.

Opening of the bowling, the offspinner Glenn Maxwell took one for 29 of four overs and took a typical spectacular catch, jumped across the border and threw the ball into the air, to get Rickelton in the final.

Australia has now won an unprecedented 23 of their last 27 T20 internationals, including a 5-0 clean sweep in the Caribbean last month.

The Proteas won only six wins of their last 13 games and had won none of their last three bilateral series.

Wilde Batting led Australia to collapse for 75 to six, in an attempt to cash in on field restrictions during the first six overs, but a bad miss in the field allowed David to save things and touch eight six in his 52-ball innings while struck the tail.

David got a precious life at 56 when he skied the spinner Senuran Muthusamy for a long time, only for Tristan Stubbs to drop a simple outfield catch. The next two balls went for six.

The captain of Australia, Mitchell Marsh, set the tone by breaking the first ball of the game, from Lungi Ngidi, over long before six after the South African captain, Aiden Markram, won the pitch and chose to bowl.

But Travis Head (2) was second and the new No. 3 Josh Inglis for a duck in the first ball in the third.

Marsh (13) skied Kagiso Rabada to Kwena Maphaka at Deep Square Been, Cameron Green (35 in 13 balls) raised Ngidi straight up in the air and Mitch Owen (2) played the worst shot of the night and loaded Maphaka to lose his waste.
