TikTok has has announced a number of new tools for creatorsand expanded monetization capabilities, including AI-powered editing to convert longer videos into short clips, timely inspiration based on in-app trends, and increased revenue share for subscriptions.
First, TikTok is introducing a new AI-powered video editing option called “Smart Split,” which will automatically cut, reframe, subtitle and transcribe your longer content into multiple shorter clips.
As you can see in this example, Smart Split uses automated detection to find natural breaks and segments, which are then cut into shorter clips that you can upload to the app.
As explained by TikTok:
“For starters, creators can upload content longer than a minute and select the parts they want to convert into shorter clips. Based on the selected part of the video, Smart Split can automatically choose a video length or creators can choose a specific length for the videos. Additionally, creators can choose from a range of subtitle formatting options and reframe content in vertical clips.”
Once Smart Split has created the clips, creators can select any video to upload directly to their TikTok account.
The results will likely vary from this, but it could save creators a lot of time and allow them to focus more on creating, rather than editing. That could also help more creators get more out of their livestream recordings and broadcasts, maximizing their content efforts.
TikTok is also introducing “AI Outline,” which will do just that help creators tap into trending formats and interests by generating video titles, hashtags, hooks, and outlines based on popular content in any genre.

As you’ll see in these examples, AI Outline lets you enter a topic and then tap Generate. TikTok can then provide a series of ideas based on the best performing posts.
“AI Outline will split the video into six parts that creators can customize. For example, creators can lengthen or shorten the title, refine the hook, and refine the overall script idea to make the video their style. Once the outline is complete, creators can record the video and upload it to TikTok.”
It can help you tap into popular content formats and trends without having to do all the research yourself. However, I would recommend that you check out related content in the app to get a better understanding of what resonates.
TikTok says AI Outline is now available to creators 18 and older in the US, Canada and select markets, while it will roll out to more regions “in the coming weeks.”
Finally, TikTok has also officially announced that it will now share up to 90% of profits from creator subscriptions with creators, through a new incentive program, which we reported on earlier this month.
Currently, TikTok creators can earn up to 70% of the revenue they generate from subscriptions in the app, with a base rate of 50% and an additional 20% based on incentives. The remaining 30% then goes to TikTok.
But now TikTok is increasing that base for North American creators to 70%, with bonus incentives increasing it to 90%.

“Starting October 1, 2025, North American and Canadian creators will receive 70% of revenue share (after app store fees). You’ll also have a chance to win an additional 20% bonus, bringing the maximum profit share to 90%. Watch your in-app notifications for more information on when you can unlock this exciting new bonus opportunity.”
So TikTok will apparently issue challenges and specific targets to meet this additional requirement, which could then increase your subscription inflow by another 20%, on top of a 70% base.
That will be welcome news for creators, who are doing everything they can to win over these subscribers with their content.
Of course, that also depends on whether TikTok remains active in the region after December, when the latest US sell-off deadline expires. But assuming all goes well (as the White House assures), this could be a valuable revenue boost that could prompt more creators to focus on growing the app’s audience.
TikTok subscriptions do available to creators with at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the previous calendar month.
Some nifty new additions for your TikTok efforts, which could also help inspire more creators on the app.
