Every time Tiger Woods makes his long-awaited return to professional golf, he does so with a new golf ball.
Bridgestone Golf on Tuesday announced its new 2026 Tour B golf ball lineup, featuring a new VeloSurge core jacket integration technology, which testing has shown gives golfers 2 mph more ball speed and nearly 30 additional feet of distance.
“I’m always looking for more pop off the tee, and this new ball definitely delivers,” Woods said in a press release. “I have trusted Bridgestone for more than 25 years, and it takes performance to a whole new level.”

What’s actually new at the Bridgestone Tour B 2026 – and why should you care?
The new Tour B series was developed from the VS Proto Project (short for VeloSurge), which identified the new core material and began testing it with amateurs and Bridgestone staff professionals.
According to the company, VeloSurge delivers “seamless synergy” between the shell and core. The mantle layer is also denser, increasing the MOI of the golf balls, which increases ball speed.
“It took an enormous amount of work to develop the VeloSurge technology and the new family of TOUR B golf balls,” Bridgestone President Dan Murphy said in a press release. “The results speak for themselves, and I am confident that this is undeniably the most advanced version of the TOUR B golf ball we have ever produced. Anyone who gets fit for the new TOUR B will immediately see the difference in ball speed, distance, accuracy and durability.”
During testing of USA Prototypes, which included both Jason Day and Chris Gotterup as amateur players, testers of all speeds experienced an average gain of 2.3 mph in ball speed, which equates to a distance of 25 feet.
Chris Gotterup’s season-opening Sony Open victory came with a new prototype @bridgestonegolf ball.
Gotterup played the VS Proto Black, the prototype version of the new 2026 Tour BX that will be unveiled on Tuesday.
