The Chicago Cubs need a win more than ever.

After a heartbreaking performance in Milwaukee, Craig Counsell’s club is down 2-0 in the best-of-five NLDS against Pat Murphy’s Brewers.

“We made a few mistakes with multiple runners on base after getting off to a good start,” Counsell said. “…you’re not going to win playoff games if you give up two- and three-run home runs. That was too much to overcome.”

They get a clean slate when they return to Wrigley Field for game three and a possible game four. Before these matches we know the following:

Game Three
Wednesday, Oct. 8 at Wrigley Field
Jameson Taillon (11-7, 3.68 ERA) vs. Quinn Priester (13-3, 3.32 ERA)

Game Four
Thursday, Oct. 9 at Wrigley Field
TBD versus TBD

If you want to be at The Friendly Confines for white knuckle, do-or-die October baseball, last-minute tickets are available.

Better yet, prices are falling.

When our team last reported on how much seats cost for NLDS games at Seiya Suzuki, Pete Crow-Armstrong, Kyle Tucker’s ballpark, the lowest amount we could find was $183 including costs for Vivid Seats.

Now, five days later, they start at $148 including fees.

Not a bad savings if you wait less than a week.

Plus, this series isn’t over until it’s over.

As the Cubs said via Instagram four days ago “There’s more baseball to be played, Chicago #FlyTheW.”

Sure, things are a lot different than they were before Milwaukee won 9-3 in game one after a great start from Freddy Peralta and the Brewers’ Game Two offensive breakout courtesy of Andrew Vaughan, William Contreras and Jackson Chourio, but now it’s time to rally behind the Cubbies.
