Myanmar’s Thway Lin Htet has one thing on his mind heading into Friday. Hunt for the knockout from the opening bell and leave no doubt.

The 22-year-old explosive finisher meets Thailand’s Kongchai Chanaidonmueang in a strawweight Muay Thai main event on A Friday fights 140 on January 30 in Bangkok, Thailand’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium. Both fighters are chasing that life-changing $100,000 contract, which comes with a raise to the main roster. Thway Lin Htet has a record of 31-2 coming into this fight, along with a promotional mark of 5-2. Three of those victories came after the finish. He made his ONE Friday Fights debut in 2024 and hasn’t looked back since.

His last battle tested everything he had. Thway Lin Htet took on Muay Thai legend Sam-A Gaiyanghadao and even dropped the former ONE two-sport, two-division world champion in the second round. However, Sam-A’s experience won out. The veteran dropped Thway Lin Htet in the third to take home the unanimous decision.

That loss stings. But it also proved that the Myanmar striker is one of the best in the division. His power is real. His aggression causes problems. Against Kongchai, he plans to dispel any doubts about his ability to compete at the highest level.

“I’m just following my normal training schedule,” he said.

Thway Lin Htet plans to overwhelm Kongchai from the start

Kongchai Chanaidonmueang brings serious credentials to this fight. The 23-year-old Thai striker is a former Rajadamnern Muay Thai world champion with a career record of 76-16. He has fought more times at ONE Friday Fights than any other athlete on the roster. His fifteen promotional fights show that he has faced everyone the promotion has to throw at him.

None of that matters to Thway Lin Htet. He watched the tape. He has seen the openings. The Myanmar fighter plans to apply pressure, preventing Kongchai from getting into his usual rhythm. If he can force the Thai veteran to fight backwards from the opening seconds, his chances of finding that knockout shot are good.

The plan is simple but effective. Apply relentless pressure in the first round. Don’t give Kongchai breathing space to determine his game. Then look forward to the opening and capitalize with maximum force.

“My plan for the first round is to increase the pressure so he can’t find his rhythm,” he said. “From there I look for the right opening and try to find a way to score a knockout.

“I know I have to make a name for myself and prove my worth as a fighter. That’s why I’m giving everything: to show the fans that I’m a true warrior. I certainly won’t disappoint the fans.”
