Three things we have learned as a man United defeated Fiorentina on penalties – Man United News and Transfer News | The people person

The undefeated preseason of Manchester United came to an end with a penalty shootout victory over Fiorentina in Old Trafford.

The normal time ended with the score at 1-1, where United gives away a rinsing goal before he equalized one of themselves when David de Gea returned to the Theater of Dreams with his new employers. The Red Devils then clinically wrapped things in the shootout, which ended 5-4.

Here are three things we learned from the game:

Baleba cannot come soon enough

After the front line has been resolved, United has to do something in their midfield, because Ruben Amorim tried again and largely failed with a partnership of Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro.

As a duo they repeated that they are not dynamic enough; In the coming years of Casemiro, he will continue to catch up and Fernandes is wild talented but not equipped to save the Brazilian Constant. The fact that they looked uncomfortable in a pre-season-friendly, does not predict well for the upcoming Premier League season.

United is strongly connected to the Box-to-Box Machine Carlos Baleba from Brighton and Hove Albion-Hij, or someone like him, cannot come fast enough.

Mount Mounts a challenge

Despite a decent ending of last season, which with the Blockbuster Arrival of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha in the number 10 -roles Mason Mount ran the risk of being a forgotten figure.

Amorim has long been a fan of the Englishman, whose time at Old Trafford has been chased by injuries and fragmentary form, and he started the match of today in Center-Forward. The 26-year-old mainly attracted attention because of his ruthless urgent and constant running, so mistakes are forced and spearing an aggressive off-the-ball approach that is exactly the game that Amorim wants to play.

Apart from his tireless pursuit, Mount has a number of nice steps and connected the game well to throw his hat in the ring for a start against Arsenal next weekend, although it is difficult to see him the speculative 9 -role as soon as the new signing Benjamin Sesko is informed.

Even Starboys get the blues

Amad Diallo was a striking artist for United during a gloomy campaign last season and often noticed that he was wearing the side during some of the darkest moments. The exuberant number 16 became a reliable source of creativity, able to make things happen in which his teammates touch brick walls.

Today was a memory that Amad is human, with the Ivorian having a frustrating time against Fiorentina. Playing on the right -hand side, where he is expected to appear this season, his attacking runs were less penetrating than we saw last season and his defensive contributions mainly include moving the attacker in his own half.

He dived into a brutal Panenka in the penalty shootout to remind us that he is still the perfect entertainer, but United must continue with the trust on him to save them.
