Jets finally go home
This road trip was a big struggle for the Jets. They started with an 0-3-0 swing in California, being outscored 9-2. A 5-3 win in Vancouver briefly reignited the offense, but the momentum didn’t last as they fell 5-3 in Seattle two nights later.
Saturday’s match against Flames, the worst in the competition, was also not exactly convincing. Winnipeg let the game slip away late, but managed to escape by two points thanks to a shootout winner from Gabriel Vilardi. Still, there wasn’t much to like about the six games in total.
The Jets finally return home for three straight games at the Canada Life Centre, a much-needed chance to reset and play their style of hockey again.
Perfetti scores first of the season
Cole Perfetti entered Saturday’s match still looking for his first goal of the season after making his debut in Anaheim earlier in the trip. He didn’t have to wait any longer.
Early in the third period, with the Jets in control, Kyle Connor hit a one-timer on Dustin Wolf. The shot hit the post and left a loose puck in the crease, where Perfetti buried it for his first of the campaign.
