Three options are now presenting themselves to Newcastle United with Alexander Isak

Here are Newcastle United at Alexander Isak.

With three options that now present themselves.

A trio of possibilities for how this Imstasak impasse will end.

You may not like one of the three options.

Indeed, none of them is ideal.

However, we do not live in an ideal world and sometimes you have no alternative, but to make the least worst choice.

These are now the three Alexander Isak options, in my modest opinion. What is your choice?

Sell Alexander Isak Cheap

Bank £ 110 million from Liverpool, perhaps £ 120 million on the most.

Keep Alexander Isak and …

Play it in the reserves for the duration of the 2025/26 season.

Keep Alexander Isak and …

Eddie Howe plays him this season 2025/26 in the Newcastle United team.

Evaluation of these three options

Option one

I don’t know how you are, but let Liverpool benefit from their cunning tactics of disturbing Isak to get it cheap … Never in a month Sunday I go for this option. The Newcastle United owners and Eddie Howe undoubtedly think the same. If Liverpool had acted professionally and had done everything through the book and offered £ 150 million+, it would still have been sick to see him go to Anfield. However, to do this about £ 40 million under his appreciation, in no way.

You also have to take into account the knock -on -effect as a united bow to Liverpool and let a star player go cheaply, largely thanks to a club that worries that player to get that very outcome. Many clubs would like Tonali, Bruno, Hall, Livramento, Gordon, etc., but know that they waste their time, because of the clear determination of Newcastle not to sell them and the high appreciation that United attaches to each of them. All that crumbles when Alexander is leaving Isak Fir £ 110 million.

Option two

This is a very understandable emotional reaction for every Newcastle fan. Let’s punish Alexander Isak for what he did, let him rot in the reserves for the entire season.

But in the real world, with your head not your heart, no fan of Newcastle really really believes that this is a feasible option.

Anyone who actually does this would undoubtedly be those who are shouting the loudest in Eddie Howe as United this season struggled for goals, with Osula and Neave in front (a scenario that could present itself, even if Wissa is signed as expected, but sometimes has to be equipped, or worse, a bad injury absorbs a bad injury).

Option three

As I said in the beginning, it sometimes means that real life means that you have to make the least worst choice.

In this case, with the first two options, it should not be any options, option three.

Alexander Isak is back in the team and Newcastle United will continue this season 2025/26.

For those who say this is impossible.

The history of football says that anything is possible.

When most Geordie van Geordies, black and white through and through, Lee Clark signed for Sunderland. That proved that everything was possible.

While for players trying to force their way out of clubs, but ultimately not to do and ultimately play one or more extra seasons at the club where they tried to get out, there are countless examples. Kieron Dyer tried to come from Newcastle and kept staying for years, Harry Kane at Spurs was the same.

There is always room for a compromise and the reality is that Alexander Isak has to play the coming season and Newcastle United needs many goals. Even if Liverpool did the right decent thing and would pay the transfer costs that they knew all the time, the minimum for an opportunity to get his signature this summer was now too late.

At the beginning of June, Newcastle United might have considered the situation differently if it is pressed. With time and opportunity to bring in a number of quality attacks to replace his goals, United could almost have done at that time. Perhaps even a household name with Liverpool that if they wanted Isak, they have to find out and Newcastle have a free run on Hugo Ekitike.

This is not 2011 and Mike Ashley who sells the Newcastle star and then replaces him with a bewildered Clubless veteran Shefki Kuqi.

History shows that many fans will of course not be happy when seeing Alexander Isak who steps on the field again in black and white. The reality is that as soon as the whistle goes, we just continue to support the team. Keyboard fighters can continue to abuse him, but the reality is that the only thing that matters supports Eddie Howe and the team that he selects in every competition.

A new contract will be agreed, Alexander Isak will receive a little more money, a release clause and/or agreement will be admitted to enable it next summer if he chooses, but in a much easier way, while Isak itself will have many more choices available, because a number of European clubs could be looking for a new first choice next summer.
