Monday: Sora Dora Ylop. A friend gave me a small amount of money that I used up in a few days. Solved immediately! Then I bought another Sniph tube with the same scent because I don’t want to be without it anymore. It’s special without being weird. Fruity sweet and sour without feeling young. Soapy without being clean. It contains apricot, tea, osmanthus (a flower with fruity notes), rosemary, some vanilla and vetiver. I understand that it is a turning point that I can respect. I love it.
Tuesday: Frederic Malle Portrait of a lady. The rose that made me stop hating roses. Earthy, rich, mysterious, soapy. Beautiful actually. Almost at best at the end of the day or the next day the breath would stick to the clothes. Sometimes I feel this in the city and I am always fascinated.
Wednesday: Basic milk+. Spicy, creamy, milky and powdery sandalwood. 100% my style, but once my Sniph tube runs out, I won’t be chasing another one. There is another scent in this category that I like more and that is Lost Alice.
Thursday: Lost Alice by Masque Milano became Thursday’s scent. I want to sink into this. Just like Ylop, this also contains tea, but on a base of soft sandalwood, musk, orris, carrot seed, lots of pepper and some rose. It’s whisper-soft and may not be felt by anyone other than the person wearing it, but I don’t care. If I had to choose a signature scent right now, it would be this.
Friday: Rituals L’Eclat. We see a theme here, creamy powdery sandalwood again! Affordable gem, indeed. It’s a lot like Lost Alice, but with neroli instead of orris and rose.
Saturday: Clarins Eau Extraordinaire. A light, simple citrus that is so incredibly easy to wear and instantly lifts the mood. I injected it gently yesterday before yoga and think it is impossible to disturb anyone. After the evening bath I sprayed Stora Skuggang’s Thumbsucker. I think too few people talk about this, it’s kind of a masterpiece in the classic powder category. Cherries and bitter almonds have it. Delicious.
As a bonus, on the advice of perfume enthusiast Steve Gontarski, I tested a small kit from Astier de Villatte. I found a new amazing iris in Les Nuits. The other two scents in the kit were awful, so I don’t need to say anything about those 🙂
