‘This match against Newcastle United is the best I have seen in the last ten years’ Peter Bosz

Peter Bosz sees his PSV team play against Newcastle United on Wednesday evening.

The reigning Dutch champion recorded thirteen league victories in a row on Saturday, winning 2-1 at Fortuna Sittard and thus being sixteen points clear at the top of the Eredivisie.

PSV Eindhoven reached the last sixteen of the Champions League last season, but prior to this seventh round they were in 22nd place in the Swiss competition.

However, Peter Bosz knows that his team will go ahead of Newcastle United if he adds another three points to the current total of eight points.

Ahead of the match at St James’ Park, the PSV head coach said in his pre-match press conference: “We’ve played against teams that play with intensity, so we’re used to it.”

Newcastle United are unbeaten in eight home games in the Premier League, winning six and drawing two.

The most recent of those St James’ Park Premier League games was a 4-3 home win over Leeds United when NUFC were three down.

Peter Bosz says about Newcastle’s victory over Leeds: “It’s the best match I’ve seen in the last ten years. That’s how football should be played.”

Joey Veerman, the PSV midfielder, also spoke about Sven Botman before tomorrow evening’s match: “I know him from our time together at SC Heerenveen and we have always kept in touch. You don’t always have that in football, but with Sven you do. It’s great to play against each other tomorrow.”
