This is how you make your New Year’s resolutions come true!

If you want to achieve your New Year’s resolutions, willpower alone won’t get you there!

Without real effort you will not achieve your goal! Commitment means making it clear why you want to achieve the goal and then creating the conditions necessary to achieve this goal. This means:

Make it public! By sharing your goal with everyone around you, you create more support and responsibility.

Create a timeline consisting of small, measurable goals that lead to the overall goal!

Create forms of feedback and accountability and support

Remove things in your environment and life that work against your efforts!

Once you really commit, you will achieve your goal! Dedication means building your life around your purpose.

Create conditions that make your success inevitable!

If you don’t change your environment, you will fail to achieve your goals.

Example: An alcoholic who really wants to stop drinking needs to stop spending time in bars and with people who drink all the time. This analogy also applies to other objectives.

Example: If you want to lose body fat, you need to change your diet and that means eliminating foods you know you’ll overeat from your home and making changes to the way you shop, like consciously avoiding grocery shopping when you’re hungry!
