Espresso-driven endurance, a seductive accent and a lot of charm, Italian lovers are officially crowned the best in the world.
A new study has lifted the lid about which nation performs best in the bedroom – and it is bad news for British.
Researchers asked 2,000 people to name the nationality of the best lover they have ever had.
Italians walked directly to first place by 21 percent of the votes, while the Spaniards came in second place at 15 percent and Greeks became third by 14 percent.
Brazilians took fourth place with 11 percent and the famous romantic French landed an impressive 9 percent.
Portuguese lovers followed 8 percent and then the Sweden with 6 percent and Australians by 5 percent.
However, it is bad news for the skills of the British bedroom – because only 4 percent said their best lover came from the UK.
Germans were the last, with only 3 percent of the votes, while ‘other’ nationalities were the last 4 percent of the votes.

Sylvia Linzalone, from Dating -App BunchSays that it is no surprise that Mediterranean countries dominate the rankings.
“It’s the trust, the eye contact, the way they talk – it’s all very magnetic,” she said.
“If you are in Italy or Spain, romance is a practical part of the weather forecast.”
Unfortunately, British just don’t bring the same heat, she added.
‘We love a good cuppa and a stiff upper lip, but sometimes that does not translate into fireworks into the bedroom.
“Meanwhile, buying bread in Italy can feel as a foreplay.”
More than a third of people said that their most memorable appearance took place during vacation, with almost one in five who said they fell in love – or at least something very close – abroad.
A woman who participated in the poll said that her most unforgettable night on a summer happened in Naples.

“I went for the pizza, but stayed for Paolo,” she said. “He ruined the British men for me forever.”
She added that the Italian had ‘incredible confidence and warmth’, while British men just ask if you want a kebab and a hug ‘.
“The data recalls that the most meaningful romantic experiences often happen when people are open to the unexpected,” Mrs Linzalone added.
‘Passion does not always come from perfection.
“It’s about presence, playfulness and the willingness to be completely in the moment – which is something Mediterranean cultures, tend to embody perfectly.”
A separate study, published last year, revealed that Italian was rated the most attractive language in the world.
According to Babel, to name Italian the most attractive in general, it combined voices for which languages were seen as ‘the sexy’, ‘most romantic’ and ‘most passionate’ of the international respondents.
When it came to what was considered the ‘most direct’ language, perhaps not surprising, German was at the top of that bill.
In the meantime, British English won the distinction of the ‘most polite’.
