The UFC heavyweight division must move on amid Tom Aspinall’s injury, says Michael Bisping

UFC commentator Michael Bisping believes the heavyweight division needs to move forward despite Tom Aspinall’s injury.

As we know, Tom Aspinall recently underwent surgery on both of his eyes as a result of a double eye poke from Ciryl Gane in his last fight. The Englishman faced a lot of criticism for not being able to continue in the match, despite the fact that Gane was the one who made sure the fight ended.

Unfortunately, Aspinall has made progress and is now on the road to recovery after a huge setback in his mixed martial arts career. He’s faced adversity before, but it’s safe to say this is the biggest problem he’s faced yet.

In a recent video, his friend Michael Bisping shared his thoughts on what the next step should be for the UFC heavyweight division in Aspinall’s absence.

Bisping’s take on life after Aspinall for the UFC heavyweight division

“I understand what Tom is saying, okay? Because you feel like the whole world is turning against you. And he wasn’t to blame. He wasn’t. But this is the world we live in. The show must go on,” Bisping said.

“I’ve had multiple eye surgeries. I wasn’t in constant contact with the UFC. They didn’t call me or check up on me. I got a call from Dana White when he called me. I’m not talking shit, by the way. They have a business to run. They have a global, major business to run, putting on the best fights in the world, okay?

“If anyone gets hurt, it’s a shame, but the show goes on,” he continued. “If you get hurt at work and can’t do your job on Monday morning, business as usual.”
