James Milner continues to defy the standard when it comes to the Premier League lifference. The midfielder of Brighton and Hove Albion is in a record-expanding 24th campaign in the Premier League and has no plans to delay yet.
The veteran scored from the penalty spot during the 2-1 victory of Brighton over Manchester City on Sunday, equal to 12 yards while the seagulls won a comeback victory.
Milner’s goal was his first since he came to Brighton from Liverpool in 2023 and a welcome moment after missing a large part of last season due to injury. It was a first goal for Milner in the Premier League since 2019/20 and one that is catapulting the midfielder in the list of the oldest Premier League goalkeepers.

The 39-year-old-Die is also approaching in the record of the Premier League of all time to second place on the list, behind only ex-Portsmouth Forward Teddy Sheringham.
The latter remains the only player who scored a Premier League goal after their 40th birthday. Would Milner, who celebrate that birthday in January, connect that performance?
