- The car is a trackday special with improved suspension, tires, brakes and aerodynamics.
The Lotus Emira delivers pure driving sensation in a stylish package, which serves as a charming counterpoint to the outgoing Porsche Cayman. Not as good, but at the same time more interesting. A way to make it more attractive? Of course, add more power.
That’s exactly what Lotus’ Australian distributor has done with an all-new version of the Emira. Simply Sports Cars has created a low-run Emira, built in honor of the iconic Mount Panorama Circuit. According to AutoExpertIt’s called the Emira Turbo Bathurst Edition, and it’s a trackday special with more power, more style and a hefty price tag.

Only 15 examples will be built. All feature a returned version of the Mercedes-AMG M139 engine used in the Emira Turbo model. This is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that typically produces around 400 horsepower. With the Bathurst Edition that figure rises to 503 hp.
Simply Sports Cars beefs up this track-focused machine with adjustable dampers, upgraded AP Racing brakes and more aggressive aero parts. There’s a carbon fiber front splitter and a large GT4-style rear wing.

Australian Lotus enthusiasts will have to spend $249,900 AUD (about $176,000 USD) to get their hands on one. Each example is individually numbered and the only real option is the choice of wheel color. Plus, if you buy one, you’ll automatically be invited to a Lotus track day at Bathurst in 2027.
Sounds like the right way to really experience what a modified Emira can do. If you’re interested, you better hurry, because the first one has been sold: there are only 14 construction sites left.
Engine1 takes: The Lotus Emira is a blast to drive with 400 hp. More than 100 added more Horsepower can only mean big things. Couple the power upgrade with the chassis improvements, and the Lotus Emira Turbo Bathurst Edition sounds like a blast.
