The Mercedes-Benz GLC has been a main component of the line-up since his debut in 2015. The luxury SUV is consistently one of the top sellers of the automaker, and it is an admirable alternative to the Audi Q5 and BMW X3.

Now the GLC is entering a new era with the introduction of the GLC with EQ technology – the first fully electric version of the omnipresent SUV of the brand for the American market. The new GLC is going against each other with other compact EVs such as the Audi Q6, Porsche Macan and the recently introduced BMW IX3.

The electric GLC has a powerful, efficient battery that delivers strong performance and competitive range. It is also equipped with the latest technology, including advanced help with the driver and a huge hyperscreen.

The GLC with EQ technology has a lithium ion battery with a useful capacity of 94.0 kilowatt hours. In its most powerful configuration it delivers up to 483 hp – 20 more than the 463 hp of the BMW IX3. When equipped with the optional trailer tray, the GLC also offers an impressive drag capacity of 5,291 pounds.

Thanks to the 800-Volt architecture, the GLC achieves a remarkable 443 miles (713 kilometers) reach on the generous European WLTP cycle, although this figure will probably be lower under the EPA test cycle. With a maximum loading capacity of 330 Kilowatt, it can restore in just 10 minutes to 188 miles (303 kilometers).

Driving on an optional airmatic suspension borrowed from the S-Class, the GLC promises an exceptional rich quality. It combines airmatic with an intelligent suspension control system with a new auto-x-X function, which automatically adjusts damping based on upcoming road conditions. Holes ahead? The GLC can detect them in advance and adjust the suspension accordingly.

Additional suspension upgrades include a RIJ-HEight operating system that uses Google MAPS data to determine the optimum height for improved efficiency. For improved maneuverability, the GLC also offers optional controls with the rear value. At speeds below 37 mph, the rear wheels can rotate to 4.5 degrees in the opposite direction of the front wheels.

As expected from a Premium Mercedes model, the GLC is equipped with an extensive series of active and passive safety features. Highlights include MB.Drive with adaptive cruise control and hands-free driving technology, as well as MB.Parking Assist with comparable semi-autonomous options.

Mercedes promotes the huge new schedule of the GLC loudly and proudly with an optional illuminated points of 942, including the central Tri-Star logo. Last month the grille teased for the first time and the electric SUV gives a unique look. I love it or hate it, it certainly stands out.

LED headlights are standard, while an optional digital light upgrade integrates a subtle Tri-star emblem in the daytime running lights. The rear lighting reflects the front with circular LED elements that extend over the trunk cover, also with three-star accents.

In terms of design, the GLC has retained its well-known compact SUV proportions and slender roof line. Depending on the equipment level you will find chrome accents on the outside – on the grid, bumpers, window edges, roof rails and more.

The electric GLC runs on a wheelbase of 117.0 inch-3.1 inch more than the gas version. This increase translates into improved interior space, with legroom front and rear with 0.5 and 1.9 inch respectively. Headroom also sees a boost: 1.8 inches at the front and 0.6 inch on the back.

Loading space is generous and offers 20.1 cubic foot behind the second row and folded to 61.4 cubic foot with the rear seats. And yes, there is a frunk that adds another 4.5 cubic foot storage.

Inside, the GLC has a vegan leather interior that is fully certified by the vegan society. But don’t worry, you can still add leather. Mercedes also offers premium options such as new Soft Torino Leather and Nappa -Learning -available with the AMG Line Sport seat package.

The center of the cabin is the massive 39.1-inch hyperscreen, which includes the entire dashboard. This advanced display integrates more than 1,000 individual LEDs and has fully adjustable screens for both the driver and the front passenger. It has improved the latest version of Mercedes-Benz’s MBUX Infotainment system, with support for artificial intelligence from both Microsoft and Google.

Despite the futuristic design, the GLC is not completely digitally-physical controls on the center console, steering wheel and door panels, and offers a tactile, user-friendly experience.

When will the GLC EV go on sale?

The new Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology will go on sale in the US in the second half of 2026. Although the official prices still have to be announced, it is expected to wear a light premium compared to the standard GLC with gas driven, which starts at $ 50,800 for the 2026 model year.
