Less than a month after he had taken the stage triumphantly, his family announced last night that the singer born in Aston had died.

Decades of addiction
Years of addiction to illegal fabrics teased the life of the musician.
From different stints in rehabilitation, without mercy, fired from the band he has founded, and a run in the law, Ozzy suffered enormously under his relationship with illegal – and legal – substances.
He started to smoke Marijuana in childhood, but in his book it was revealed that it was when his bandmates introduced him to cocaine in the 1970s that his drug use changed.
He began to abuse prescribed medication – ‘downers’ – together with street drugs, to combine them without concern about the damage they could cause him physically or mentally.
Ozzy said, “I was on alcohol, cola, heroin, sour and quaaludes for gluing, cough syrup, Rohypnol, Klonopin, Vicodin … At more than a few occasions I was on it at the same time.”
Osbourne’s first stint in rehabilitation was in 1984, but it was only thirty years later, in 2014, that he admits to take his austerity seriously after he had also seen his son Jack struggling with addiction.
He said, ‘I thought I would drink until the day I die [but] Most people I drank are dead. ‘

The proceeds from the Black Sabbath Reunion were donated earlier this month to cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorns Children’s Hospice.
