Acura CSX and Honda Civic are said to have been painted with defective metals and/or mother -of -pearl.

– Acura and Honda paint problems have caused a Class Action right store in Canada for these vehicles.

  • 2006-2011 Acura CSX (warranty coverage for four years or 80,000 kilometers)

  • 2006-2013 Honda Civic (warranty coverage for three years or 60,000 kilometers)

Although for some vehicles the guarantees went 16 years ago, the owner who complains complains that the guarantees are “unconscious and/or misleading.”

The Class Action rights store includes ACURA CSX and Honda Civic vehicles painted with one of these metals and/or pearl-like outdoor paints applied by the factory with these paint codes.

  • Nighthawk Black Pearl (B-92P)

  • Fiji Blue Pearl (B-529P)

  • Royal Blue Pearl (B-536P)

  • Atomic Blue Metallic (B-53 7M)

  • Dyno Blue Pearl (B-561P)

  • Galaxy Gray Metallic (NH-701M)

  • Crystal Black Pearl (NH-73 LP)

  • Polished metal metallic (NH-737M)

  • Urban Titanium Metallic (YR-578M)

  • Dyno Blue Pearl II (only 2012 model) (B-586P)

According to the Acura and Honda Paint -Rechtszaak, the paint, bubbles, peels, flakes and relegates.

The plaintiff complains the paint peels and falls apart because of:

  • A defect in the paint itself

  • A defect in the factory application process that is used to apply the primary layers and/or the paint to the body

  • A defect in the automated painter/coating line system from Honda

Acura and Honda reportedly already knew about the alleged paint problems in 2013.

The Class Action claims that damaged paint ensures that the vehicles look poor and reduces the values of the vehicles. Acura and Honda owners in Canada are also said to have to control unattractive vehicles or pay a lot of money to re -paint the vehicles.

“Even then, repainting a affected body panel of the vehicle of the vehicle is not the paint defect, because the remaining parts of the affected class vehicles are still suffering from the paint defect in its latent form that will always manifest itself.” – Honda Canada Peeling Paint Legal

The Peeling Paint right case was filed by Kevin Lory McINTOSH who bought a used Honda Civic from 2007 in January 2016. The Civic is painted with factory-fored Nighthawk Black Pearl (B-92P) paint.

The plaintiff soon noticed that the paint on the rear part of the roof bubbled just above the rear window, peeling, delaminating and flaking. Then the hood, the roof and the trunk member were “stripped of their factory-made coatings.” The Class Action says that so much paint has disappeared that the sheet metal is exposed.

The claimant has tried to have Honda repaired the paint free since June 2020, but he has been told: “There is no remedy available for the paint defect, or his Honda Civic is not eligible for repair.”

The Acura and Honda Peeling Paint -Rechtszaak was brought into the Supreme Court of British Columbia: Kevin Lory Mcintosh v. Honda Canada Inc., et al.

The plaintiff is represented by Dusevic & Garcha.
