The top 100 builders in the country are ranked in the latest report of the housing industry, with new house incitals that have seen a growth of 11%.
The Housing Industry Association (HIA) has released its Housing 100 2024/25 report, and ranks the largest 100 residential builders in Australia through the number of houses that started last year.
Metricon, which reported 4015 new home reporting in four states in 2024/25, provided the top position for the tenth year in a row.

The next in line was ABN Group – known for brands such as Celebration Homes and Boutique Homes with 3530 Starts. The completion of the top five was Meriton Apartments (3029 Starts), Nex Building Group (2898 Starts) and AHB Group, including Soho Living – (2891 Starts).

Brad Duggan, CEO of Metricon, said that the performance of the company this year has represented his first year of growth in the site -start since 2019/2020, “signaling renewed momentum in what has been a very challenging market”.
“To reach ten consecutive years, because the number one builder of Australia is an extraordinary milestone – one that speaks to our non -repellent dedication of quality, affordability and customer confidence,” said Mr. Duggan.
“In the past decade, 48,000 Australians have chosen Metricon to build their home, considerably more than any other builder, and that trust is the basis of our company.”
Together, the 100 -arranged builders delivered 64,407 houses throughout the year, an increase of 11% compared to the 58,011 of the previous year.
Metricon was also at the top of the detached category home builders, with 3699 Starts. Thanks to distance, a whole with 46,944 grew with 46,944.
AHB Group and Soho Living, which designs and builds mansions, led semi-detached residential builders with 506 Starts, while the category generally jumped 24% to 6443.
Founder and director of AHB Group Pasquale Garofalo said that the company’s strategy, which brands from Sheridon Homes and Marque Homes to Royston Homes and Hattan, has pronounced flexible being to meet the needs of different home buyers.
“From families looking for value and flexibility, to down sizers who are looking for comfort without compromises, we design for real life,” he said.
“This result is the proof of what happens when a good design, affordability and location come together.”

Meriton Apartments took the first place in the Multi-Units category, with starting 40% nationally to 11,020.
Among the largest category Movers, which looks at the builders who have increased their start by 200 or more, ParkView Constructions registered the largest growth, rising 1403 starts (an increase of 131% compared to the previous year).
Coronation feature was arranged second with 1097 Extra Starts (+161%) and Mirvac was third with 975 More Starts (+524%).
Hia Chief Economist Tim Reardon said that these results ‘are a reason for optimism’ with growth in all categories.
“These results reinforce that the largest builders in Australia are ready to lead the next phase of residential growth,” said Mr. Reardon.
Mr. Reardon also noted that interest rates, strong population growth and the illumination of the construction costs are expected to support the construction activity.
“Detached starts are expected to increase steadily to a peak of 2027, while the start with several units is set for an even stronger recovery,” he said.
“The largest builders in Australia have again shown that they are resilient, capable and ready to deliver the houses that our growing population needs.”
