Howie Roseman, general manager of Eagles, is never shy to make a profession. Regardless of the player or position. On Monday evening, Philadelphia made a step to add depth to his rear field.
The Jaguars exchanged RB Tank Bigsby to the Eagles in exchange for a fifth and sixth round pick from 2026. Bigsby is in the third season of a four-year Rookie deal that he initially signed at Jacksonville. Now he is under contract with the Eagles during the 2026 season. If he quickly adapts to Philadelphia, Tank Bigsby could become their back -up RB.

In the third round of the NFL design of 2023, the Jaguars RB Tank Bigsby from Auburn selected. The 24-year-old was the backup of Travis Etienne in his first two seasons. After the 2024 campaign from Jacksonville, they fired Doug Pederson. Liam Coen was hired as the new head coach and they set up an RB in the fourth round of the NFL Draft, Bhaysshul Tuten from Virginia Tech.
After one match with the Jaguars in 2025, Tank Bigsby was traded to the Eagles. In exchange, Philadelphia Jacksonville sent a pick from the fifth and sixth round from 2026. Now the Eagles are adding more talent to their rear field. Saquon Barkley is the undisputed starter and workhorse RB for the Eagles. Although he takes the most touches for Philly, they must have capable backups.

Barkley took more than 400 snaps between the regular season and play-offs in 2024. The All-Pro RB had previous injury history. If Saquon had to miss the time for the Eagles, they want capable backups. Philadelphia had Will Shipley and AJ Dillon to start the season. Their front office, however, wanted to add even more depth. Tank Bigsby played in 33 of 34 games for Jacksonville during his first two seasons.
Backup RB Will Shipley is mentioned as doubtful because of a rib injury that he sustained in week 1. Tank Bigsby could come in and immediately see work as a backup if Shipley was out. Philadelphia is on the road in week 2 for a super bowl -rematch with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. The last time these two teams met, the Eagles de Chiefs dominated in Super Bowl 59.
