Think of “Harley-Davidson” and what comes to mind is a low-dish cruiser with so much chromium that you need to look at it, or a tourer that is more comfortable than some cars for a long travel or even Arnold Schwarzenegger. What does not come to mind are the kind of roads that sports cyclists love. That is, flowing asphalt with many corners.
However, there has been a Renaissance in Harley in the last decade and it has renewed its products so that they are more all -rounders. The highlight of this renewal was the Pan America 1250 Touring engine bike. It is all we don’t expect to be a Harley, chain drive and such. Earlier this year, the Motor Co. On this direction by launching the pan America 1250 pcs, which is aimed at asphalt driving thanks to a number of changes about the standard Pan America 1250. This is the Harley-Davidson that actually deals with twisties.

The Pan America 1250 ST can actually deal with twisties
Price: $ 19,999
The America Pan has been around for five years, but it has focused on an adventurous tourer. Harley-Davidson thought it was time for a change, and that change came earlier this year with the addition of the ‘St’ variant. The Pan America 1250 st, full sports tourer, with 17-inch alloy wheels, sticky asphalt tires, a reduced suspension (and therefore lower seat height), a chair from a piece and a shorter smoked windshield to make a better sports tourer. In combination with the powerful engine, six-axis imu, strong brakes, modern chassis and electronics that help, this makes it the Harley-Davidson that can actually become around.
Why we chose the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 ST
It is low for a pan America!
17-inch wheels with sticky asphalt tires
Full electronics suite
Standard two -way Quickshifter
150 hp
Driven by a revolutionary V-twin engine of 60 degrees
The Pan America 1250 ST uses the same engine and the same state of tunes as the rest of the America range pan, including the CVO Pan America. That gives you a hint of how capable it is. This max 1252 cc V-twin revolution is completely cooled (a definition required for HD engines), has overhead camshafts without pushrods and variable valve on all its valves. The result is a strong wave of torque and a large peak power combined. At 150 hp there are not too many touring bikes with more power-it is just as much power as the four-cylinder Suzuki GSX-S1000GX!

The six -speed gearbox has a two -way Quickshifter as a standard function at the America ST Pan, and a final chain drive remains unique under Harleys. The only other HD with a final chain drive is the CVO Road Glide RR, and there is nothing standard on that bike. A six-axis IMU makes a bend stream for the bend, bends for drag-torque slip control and Wheelie mitigation possible.
The chassis is great for Tarmac Touring
The chassis of the Pan America chassis have been some adjustments to make the ST more suitable for asphalt obligation. The two big things are the reduced suspension, now at 6.75 inches, so that the bike can sit lower on the floor for better handling and a more approachable seat height. The chair itself has been turned into a flat unit in one piece instead of the stepped two -part unit of the Special and CVO. The rear pre -tension can be adjusted electronically and compression and rebound adjustment can be done manually at both ends.

Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 ST functions
A good function set too
The focus of the Pan America ST on asphalt means that it has the changes marked above. But it also retains the good bits-one 6.8-inch TFT color display that offers Bluetooth connectivity and navigation is standard. Other standard functions are a two-way Quickshifter, a piece of chair and a six-axle imu. The ‘Sharknose’ Kuip houses an adaptive LED head lamp. The adaptive driving height is also standard for the ST in North -American markets, which means that the suspension lowers at walking speeds to make it easier to maneuver.

Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 ST competition
Some very big names
The America 1250 pcs are unique, yes, but it goes against incredibly heavy competition. First, let’s handle the value competitions: the Kawasaki Versys 1100 and Suzuki GSX-S1000GX+ offer both inline four-cylinder engines and a similar function set. However, they are built on reliable platforms and will be cheaper to maintain. The big guns are the 170 hp BMW S 1000 XR and the 175-HP KTM 1290 Super Duke GT. Both are many more premium brands with much more performance and an equal number of functions for similar prices. The S 1000 XR -Basis Prize is even a few thousand dollars less than the Harley. That makes choosing the pan America above the others incredibly difficult.
