The father of Travis Hunter arrested for alleged probationary violation, later released

Travis Hunter Sr., the father of former Colorado Buffaloes football player Travis Hunter, was arrested earlier this week for alleged violation of the conditions of his probationary period.

Hunter Sr. is currently on trial in Palm Beach County for three years after he was convicted in 2024 for the charges of arms and drugs. In May he asked the court to supervise his remaining punishment of community control in a less limiting form of probation. He made the request so that he “could help his son to promote his promising career at the National Football League.”

Coates denied the request because he did not want Hunter Sr. received a special treatment.
