For our first stop on our look back at some of this legend’s exciting highlights, we travel back in time to May 2012. At that time, Aung La N Sang already had a 12-8 record and had booked his 21st career MMA appearance for the late Bellator MMA.

On 12, 2012, Aung La N Of drew the order by Jesus Martinez at Bellator 68. In just 36 blistering seconds, he finished Martinez with a barrage of punches, giving him the thirteenth victory of his career.

The fight would be La N Sang’s only career appearance under the Bellator MMA banner, with a tenure in Cage Fury Fighting Championships with a 2-1 record with one no-contest.

After his stint with Cage Fury concluded in the fall of 2013, La N Sang joined the active roster of ONE Championship. It was in ONE that his career took off. Fast forward to the summer of 2017, he sought revenge against Vitaly Bigdash as the latter handed him a defeat in their first fight that winter.

At the end of June that year, the rematch took place at ONE Championship: Light of a Nation in Myanmar. On the line: the ONE MMA Middleweight (205 lbs) Championship. Chapter one in this story was written when Bigdash won by unanimous decision. La N Sang made history when he and Bigdash took the fight back after the summer solstice.

With the rematch going the advertised distance, Aung La N Sang got his revenge and became the first MMA champion from Myanmar in a “home match” against his rival. Aung La N Sang’s exciting moments: achieving double champion status

As the calendar turned to 2018, Aung La N Sang’s attention turned to his pursuit of the ONE Light Heavyweight (225 lbs) MMA Championship, which was then vacant in the wake of Roger Gracie’s retirement from the competition in 2017.

For the vacant title, he faced Alexandre Machado in ONE Championship: Quest For Gold in his home country of Myanmar. That night he became a two-division champion in the sport, scoring a first-round knockout in the opening minute of the fight.

Aung La N Sang would make just one successful defense of the promotion’s light heavyweight title. As of 2025, he remains the only ONE Light Heavyweight MMA champion to defend the title. In 2025, Aung La N Sang’s exciting moments came to an end as he announced his intention to retire from active competition after the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 36. For his final walk to the ring, he would face Zebaztian Kadestam.

La N Sang took Kadestam into the second round of the evening’s co-main event, but finished him off with a series of strikes to send himself away in fine feathers. To cap off his career, he received a post-fight bonus of $50,000 (USD) and induction into the ONE Championship Hall of Fame on ONE 173 in November 2025.
