The program brings 15 boys and 14 girls who represent countries that extend from Japan and Kazakhstan to the Maldives and the Philippines, with the geographical width of Asian table tennis. Training takes place in 16 tables at the location that will soon organize the WTT youth candidate Vientiane, so that participants offer authentic international competition conditions.
Leading the technical program is the renowned Japanese coach Daisuke Ishida, whose impressive references include Coaching Paris 2024 Olympic medal winner Hina Hayata. Working together with fitness and conditioning specialist Kenjiro Tuchida, also from Japan, benefit from expertise participants who are usually reserved for Elite International players.
The coaching delegation contains a strong representation with 22 mentors – 12 female and 10 male – including Ting Siew Chien Jane from Singapore, who serves as a women’s development coach. Two coaches participate in the ITTF development program for women’s coaching and demonstrate the interconnected character of initiatives for talent development.
Participants received a memorable introduction to the Laotian culture through a traditional welcome dinner with local entertainment. The ceremony attracted a distinctive presence, including Lao Table Tennis Federation President Sengreun Lachanthaboun and high -ranking government officials.
The presence of Vice -Minister of Education and Sport Samlane Mhanthavong, Minister of Technology and Communication Keovisouk Solaphom, and Viengneun Khaykham Phithhoun underline the important government support for the event.
The player list reflects the remarkable diversity of Asia, with players from India, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Kazakhstan, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and the Philippines.
The program structure gives priority to development over competition, with five days dedicated to intensive training followed by a single day of competition assessment. This approach ensures that participants receive maximum coaching input and technical instruction from the expert personnel.
The training environment, with 16 tables in a location prepared for international competition, offers young players exposure to standards that they can encounter as they continue through the Talentpad.
In addition to table tennis technology, participants experience cultural immersion in Laos, which adds an educational dimension to their sporting development. The combination of high -level coaching, international competition conditions and cultural exposure creates an extensive development experience.
The Asia Hopes Week & Challenge continues all week in Vientiane, where participants from the entire continent benefit from expert coaching and international exposure when pursuing their table tennis ambitions.
