Speaking at a meeting organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Cochin, Ms Gerards said Kerala’s strategic coastal location makes it an ideal hub for mutual investments and partnerships.

“There is enormous potential for investment in the Indian shipping sector. A coastal region like Kerala offers unique opportunities for Dutch and Indian companies to work together and expand global trade,” she said.
High level visit
The ambassador was accompanied by Ewout De Wit, Consul General of the Netherlands, underscoring the importance of the visit and the Netherlands’ commitment to strengthening economic ties with India.
Recalling her previous tenure as Consul General of the Netherlands in Bengaluru, Gerards reaffirmed her commitment to promoting stronger economic and cultural ties between the two countries. She also emphasized the Netherlands’ interest in supporting India’s growth story through sustainable investments and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
