Dewald Brevis illuminated Darwins Marrara Oval with a flaring century to help South Africa an impressive 53-run victory over Australia in the second Twenty20 match.
The 22-year-old Brevis scored an unbeaten 125 of 56 balls with 12 four and eight sixs, who push South Africa to 7-218 before Australia struggled on Tuesday evening to 165 for another noisy audience of the near-capacity.
The victory of South Africa brought the three-match series to One-All and ended in Australia’s record nine-game winning streak. The decisive match will be played in Cairns on Saturday for a one -day series of three games between the teams in Cairns and Mackay.
Brevis raised his century in 41 balls, the second fastest in the South African T20 history. It was his first international hundred, once he had passed 50 in two tests and registered a top score of 41 in eight Twenty20 internationals.
He unleashed a series of daring strokes and dominated a partnership of 126 in 9.3 overs with the modest Tristan Stubbs, who scored 31 in 22 balls as the Ankerman. Their 100-run stand came up in 44 balls, with Stubbs that contribute 16.
Brevis got a life at 56 when a replacement fellow player Matt Kuhnemann wrongly rated a catch that crossed the border. Brevis had already touched Glenn Maxwell for successive sixes and another hit after the decrease of a 24 costs.
The performance of South Africa was a clear contrast with Sunday’s opening match when they failed to chase the Under-PAR 178 of Australia. The visitors finished on 9-161 to lose with 17 points and Brevis made two.
For the second time in the series, most Batsmen of Australia performed under the series, although Tim David was again the exception.
He followed his 52-ball 83 in the first game, to pop up the innings of Australia, with a 24-ball 50 on Tuesday, even though he was forced to hold his right shoulder earlier in the field in the field after not successful diving to stop a border.
The next best score was Alex Carey’s 26 of 18 balls that hit number 7. Carey was flown in Darwin as a late replacement for Wicketkeeper Josh Inglis, who suffered flu -like symptoms.

Mitch Owen still had a difficult night, again unable to repeat the great heroism he produced during the 5-0 T20 Clean Sweep of Australia of the West India last month.
After he was almost bent with a yorker, he was hit in the grill by a short ball from South Africa Spearhead Kagiso Rabada.
Owen was bent to Zeeger Corbin Bosch on six. The Zing -stumps illuminated but the bail remained. They came out shortly later when he was bent by Kwena Maphaka for eight of 13 balls who tried a new failed slog.
