The BMW 4 -Series Coupé and Cabriolet, and the hotter M4 variants, are a dying breed. Two -door cars are not as popular as before, but BMW is said to have no plans to dump the current model quickly. A new rumor suggests that the automaker will produce the 4 -series until at least June 2029.

According to the post, the G22 and G23 4 series, together with the G82 and G83 M4S, will remain in production for the rest of the decade. The 4 -series Gran Coupe is reportedly planned to stay in production until June 2028.
The possibility that BMW would expand the production of 4 series is no surprise. In the US, the 4-series was the best-selling passenger cars of the brand, which exceeded the 3-series with 10,000 units in the first nine months of the year, although sales fell compared to the same period last year.
BMW recently updated the 4 series and it could receive a new refresh before the production ends in four years. It would not have a radical redesign, but BMW has already confirmed that it will bring its Neue Class platform technology to the rest of its line -up in the coming months.

A few years ago there were unconfirmed reports that suggested that BMW would stop the 4 -series and merge it with the 8 series, due to decreasing sales and interest in coupes and convertible. Another report from earlier this year suggested that the next-gene 4-series would ride on the Neue Klasse platform.
With so much uncertainty with regard to the future of electric vehicles, it makes sense to keep the 4-series and hotter M4. The model is based on BMW’s ten-year-old Clar architecture, which can continue to use the brand, allowing customers to offer a series of powertrain choices without limiting what the brand can offer.
The M4 must continue to use the straight six engine until the end of the production. BMW has said earlier that his best engines are not going anywhere. The engine makes 473 hp in the M4, which should satisfy enthusiasts until the next decade.
