Swiss food giant Nestlé said on Monday that it turned his CEO Laurent Freixe after an investigation into an unknown relationship with a direct subordinate.
The maker of Nescafé drinks and Purina Pet Food said in a statement that the dismissal was immediately in force. A study showed that the non -known romantic relationship with a direct subordinate code of conduct of Nestlé was violated.
Freixe, who had been CEO for a year, is being replaced by Philipp Novratil, an old Nestlé director.
“This was a necessary decision,” said chairman Paul Bulcke. “The values and board of Nestlé are strong basis of our company.”
The company gave no other details about the research.
Freixe has been with Nestlé since 1986 and played roles around the world. When Nestlé renewed its geographical structure in January 2022, Freixe CEO of Zone Latin -America became. In August 2024 he was tapped to replace the then CEO Mark Schneider in the top role and started on 1 September 2024.
Navratil started his career at Nestlé in 2001 as an internal auditor and served in different roles in Central America. In 2020 he joined Nestlé’s Coffee Strategic Business Unit and in 2024 he became CEO of Nestlé’s Nespresso Division.
It is the latter in a series of personnel changes for the company. In June, Bulcke, a former CEO that has been chairman of the board of directors since 2017, said that he would not stand for re -election in 2026. And in April Steve Presley, an executive vice -president and CEO of Zone Americas, said he retired after almost 30 years.
Nestlé is located in Vevey, Switzerland and is confronted with headwind such as other food makers, including rising raw materials and the negative impact of rates. It said in July that the higher coffee and cocoa-related costs compensated with price increases.
