This approach lacks the fundamental test economy. Like every investment, BDD scenarios follow the law of declining returns. The first scenario must record the majority of the user value. The second adds meaningful behavior. Against the fifth you chase edge cases that belong to unit tests.

Start with the golden scenario
Write the scenario that first records the core promise of your system.
For document management software, this means the approval workflow that immediately offers users value to users. Everything else is secondary.

Rejection is equally critical of the approval of documents. Users need feedback when documents do not meet the standards.

If you do not get enough reuse, you are probably specified too much for the scenarios, making implementation data possible. That is the hint to make them more abstract, but keep them exactly.
Our set of scenarios should grow faster than the library with steps that we have to implement to perform them.
The law of declining returns
In addition to two or three scenarios, each addition offers less value and increases maintenance and runtime costs.

- Simultaneous approval attempts

Focus on the delivery of iterative value
This approach perfectly matches iterative design principles.
- You start with the Minimum feasible behavior That offers user value. Ship it. Get feedback. Then add the next most valuable scenario.
- Every iteration delivers work software that can evaluate real users. You avoid building extensive functions that nobody wants.
- BDD scenarios will be your appreciate compass. If a scenario does not represent behavior that users would miss if it were broken, it would probably not have to exist.

First build valuable things
This cadence helps you to deliver value faster and more predictable.
Instead of spending weeks on writing extensive scenario -suites, identify and implement the Behavior with highest value first. Users see the progress immediately.
You avoid the fall of the gaming test cover. Each scenario deserves its place by representing real user value.
The most important thing is that you Focus on behavior instead of implementation. This keeps your tests resilient for coding changes, while they ensure that they validate, which is actually important for users. If your system changes implementation data, those changes will not break your BDD scenarios as long as the behavior remains consistent.
This cadence is not about writing fewer tests.
It’s about it first write the most valuable specifications And pushing complexity to the right test layer.
