AI Startup Perplexity feeds a new AI-driven search engine on Truth Social, the social media platform of President Donald Trump.
The search engine, dubbed truth search AI, is already available on the web version of Truth Social, with public beta tests on its iOS and Android apps planned for ‘the near future’.
Trump Media said in A press release That Pertlexity technology offers “direct, contextually accurate answers with transparent quotes” that will help the truth to “exponentially increase the available information” for users. Nevertheless, the social media platform retains control over which information sources of the AI search engine draws.
Truth Social is the use of the perplexity of Sonar API, who promises to request the web to collect current and verified information – even if that information is scraped from websites that block the Crawlers from Perflexity – and structured output so that users can define the format in which they want to see the answers of the search engine.
Jesse Dwyer, a spokesperson for Parxity, told Techcrunch that the Sonar API will be accurate to whatever sources to the truth of social.
“We have no visibility or control over that,” said Dwyer. “Similar to you who uses the API in your own company or if you were an academic researcher and wanted to use it to search for your own data.”
Techcrunch has contacted Trump Media to find out more if Truth Search AI will have access to the entire web, or the certain sources above others will prioritize and whether the AI will be instructed to respond favorably to the president and current administration and unfavorable towards Democrats.

To assess which sources the search bone would quote, Axios Asked a lot of questions – such as’ What happened on January 6, 2021? And “Why was Donald Trump accused?” In all responses, Foxnews.com Was the most common or the only mentioned information source. Others Foxbusiness.comThe Washington Times of Epoch Times, by Axios.
The public search engine of Pertlexity, on the other hand, returns a greater variety of sources, including Wikipedia, Reddit, YouTube, NPR and Polito.
Truth Social is planning to refine and expand the search function “based on user feedback while we implement a wide range of extra improvements to the platform,” said Devin Nunes, CEO of Trump Media and a former congress in California, in the explanation.
Dmitry Shevelenko, Chief Business Officer from Pertlexity, also noted in the statement that AI Van Pertlexity delivers answers with “transparent quotes with which someone can dig deeper.”
At the end of July, in addition to his AI action plan, Trump published an executive order focused on ‘biased AI’ or models that are not ‘ideologically neutral’. The order specifically referred to information about race or sex, unconscious bias, systemic racism and other ideas that are thrown into the bucket of diversity, fairness and inclusion (dei) as “omnipostive and destructive” ideology that “can distort the quality and accuracy of the output”.
Truth Search AI comes in the same week that top AI companies such as OpenAi, Anthropic and Google have been added to a list of approved suppliers who can sell their services to civil federal agencies. OpenAi reached a deal with the central purchasing arm of the US government on Wednesday to sell Chatgpt company to agencies for only $ 1 per year.
