When people think of pyramids, the most automatically think of Egypt – Annient Egypt, as accurate, because the solid structures were often built as graves for pharaohs and their consorts.

Egypt is the home base of 118 pyramids, including the Giza Pyramid complex, a national treasure that is recognized as one of the world’s most important historical and cultural locations. The UNESCO World Heritage site attracts millions of visitors every year, making it an important tourist attraction. Despite their worldwide fame, however, the iconic monuments are elsewhere in the minority and another African country is the home of most pyramids in the world.

Sudan has the most pyramids in the world. The Northeast African country is the home of around 240 pyramids, according to World Population ReviewBuilt by the Kushite koninkrijk.

The pyramids in Sudan are called the Nubain pyramids. They were built by the old rules in the region of the Nile Valley known as Nubia, which is the presenter-day North Sudan.

Similar to Egyptian pyramids, the nubic structure where crusal parts of funeral use for royalties and other rich figures of the kushite kid, with the practice that goes back to the 7th Cenutry BC.

Although the number of pyramids in Sudan is more than in Egypt, the Nubian pyramids were influenced by the designs and construction techniques used in Egpyt during the New Kingdom period between the 16th and 11th centuries BC.

The pyramids were once a popular tourist destination for the few visitors who welcomed Sudan. With the current conflict, the Pyramids protected by UNESCO, about 124 miles north of Khartoem, have been left in ruins.

The civil war has made it particularly impossible for maintenance efforts, making it vulnerable to further harm through natural causes and neglect.

Other pyramids can be found in Al-Kurru, Nuri and Jebel Barkal, a UNESCO world heritage site, the home of a field with well-preserved pyramids and temples.

Although few pyramids have succeeded in preserving the series of fights Sudan, including violence, political instability and economic struggles, the world record and the rich history of the country have overshadowed.
