It’s been just over a year since Christopher Olivier was able to put down his crutches. A broken tibia forced the Ländle frog to take a long break; It was not until April 2025 that he was able to start training properly again with the second team of VfB Stuttgart. A tough time for Auer, who moved from the Vorarlberg Academy to the Swabians’ youth team in July 2022 and increasingly drew attention to himself there. “That was the most serious injury I’ve had so far. The most long-lasting. But I was positive and determined the whole time, so the time passed more or less quickly,” Olivier remembers. Things have gotten better since then. In July, the youngster took part in summer preparation with Bundesliga professionals Stuttgart. He performed consistently well with the second team in the third division and was soon one of the top players again. He contributed two goals in the autumn. “There could be more, goals too,” laughs Olivier, “but I can be happy and proud of the first half of the season. I have never been so injury-free and have had many good performances in the second team. That was a big leap for me,” says Olivier about the past six months.
