Tesla Quarterly Sales drops in the midst of Elon Musk Backlash

The sale of Tesla electric vehicles fell by 13 percent in the first quarter of 2025, the worst quarterly result in the company since 2022.

The company’s share price fell by 2 percent on Wednesday when the company registered a larger than expected decrease in turnover.

Between January to March, the company only sold 336,681 vehicles, about 50,000 fewer cars than for the same period last year.

Responding to the sales news, Wedbush Securities analyst said that it was a “disaster on every metric”.

“We are not going to look at these figures with pink glasses,” he told Reuters.

Mr. Musk predicted a turnover growth of 20 to 30 percent in 2025 last year and promised to launch an affordable model in the first half of this year.

Tesla’s turnover on the most important European markets fell again in March, with sale in France and Sweden for a third consecutive month.
