#20 Terriers rebounded from Friday’s overtime loss to Lowell by defeating the River Hawks 3-0 at Tsongas Arena. Mikhail Yegorov stopped all 23 shots he faced and earned his second shutout in the past five games.
The win keeps BU in third place in the league Hockey East Standings and has moved up to #17 in the NPI Rankings.
Cole Hutson got the offense going, scoring BU’s first tally and then setting up Nick Roukounakis to double the lead. Hutson was +3 for the match. Ben Merrill put the icing on the cake with an empty net goal, his second in three games.
Hutson’s goal came with seconds left in the middle period, ending nearly 40 minutes of scoreless hockey. Roukounakis’ score came midway through the third.
“I thought it was a solid effort overall; good response after last night,” coach Jay Pandolfo said. “In the beginning they came quite hard and tried to chase us on the forecheck. We weathered the storm for the first ten minutes, which you sometimes have to do on the road.
“I thought our group found our legs, especially in the second period. We started to push and get chances. There weren’t many chances anyway with tight controls and guys selling out to block shots on both ends… I thought we did a really good job of protecting the lead.”

After the game, Hutson said, “I knew the puck was going to come to me. No one in their right mind would leave Cole Eiserman wide open. I just tried to hammer it, and it went in.”
BU started the third period with a power play because of Lowell’s Jos Mori Hutson had leveled just seconds after his goal. The Terriers failed to capitalize; However, halfway through the period, they doubled the lead. The sequence started just inside the BU blueline, with Roukounakis delivering a big hit to separate Libor Nemec from the puck.
Hutson grabbed the puck, ran onto the ice and turned to the right side, creating a crowd. He soon found Roukounakis alone three yards out for a quick shot, but Elliott extended a leg pad to deny him. Hutson recovered the puck and threw it to Roukounakis in the right circle for a one-timer past Elliott.

2027 recruit Brady Knowledge heads The 10 Best Goalkeepers of the Daily Faceoff for the 2026 draft. He was also ranked No. 1 among North American netminders by NHL Central Scouting.
1. Brady Knowling (USNTDP)
Knowling has been great to watch this year. Between his stellar performance against Hlinka Gretzky and his 42-save effort in the CHL USA Prospects Challenge, Knowling was always off when the spotlight was on him. His numbers in the USNTDP are nothing to get excited about, but he gives his team a chance to win almost every night. You can’t complain about his 6-foot-4 frame either. Many scouts have different choices for the best goaltender, but I like Knowling the best at the moment.
