India Under-19 had won last time out when they clashed with Pakistan Under-19 in the recent group stage match of the ACC Men’s U-19 Asia Cup. However, the Pakistan team made it matter when it mattered most, and they defeated the Men in Blue to clinch the title.
During the historic win, there were several ugly altercations between the young players from Pakistan and a few Indian players like skipper Ayush Mhatre and young prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
Ayush Mhatre hurls abuse at Pakistan team after being betrayed by all XI players
Ayush Mhatre was named skipper of India Men’s Under-19 and he led them to the final of the competition. However, despite being in blazing form in domestic cricket, the youth star failed to make a nice contribution with the bat in this Asia Cup.
The final match of the tournament was an occasion where the team needed their captain to take charge from the front as they chased a mammoth total of 348. However, the Mumbai batsman struggled in the first few deliveries he played and went on to play a fine drive up the order, only to be caught in the throat midway through the match in an attempt to clear the infield.
Ali Raza struck for the first Indian wicket and it was the Indian captain. The Pakistani cricketers celebrated with some sheer aggression as all the XI players gave Ayush Mhatre an ugly send-off. Mhatre became hysterical and returned, insulting the Pakistani cricketers. An unpleasant incident, which was caught on camera, can be seen in the video below.

India faced a humiliating defeat in the U-19 Asia Cup final
The Indian team suffered a humiliating thrashing from the Pakistani team in the U-19 Men’s Asia Cup. India not only lost the game and the title, but they also lost their reputation in the making.
The promising bowling line-up, which was convincing throughout the tournament, struggled to keep up its form, and Sameer Minhas, just one of the Pak batters, only destroyed the bowling line-up.
Also, the batting line-up included batsmen Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Aaron George and Abhigyan Kundu, who impressed with their dominance during the tournament but failed to fight back against Pakistan’s mammoth target. India lost by a whopping 191 runs.
Mohsin Naqvi frees from controversy after Pakistan’s victory
Before the start of the Indian innings, it was claimed that Mohsin Naqvi had left for Dubai to witness the final match and be part of the post-match presentation ceremony. It was speculated that if India won the match, controversies would arise again over not receiving the trophy from the hands of the ACC chairman, who is also PCB chief and Home Minister of Pakistan.
However, Mohsin Naqvi was spared both the controversy and humiliation as Pakistan won the match and would be more than happy at the presentation ceremony, just as he was at the ACC Men’s Rising Stars Asia Cup last month.
